Meet Jayson and Ariel, our newly-engaged couple who are both cheerleaders. Yeap, you read that right. Of all the unique passions that we’ve encountered, who would have thought these two lovebirds share a similar passion for this rare and passionate sport?

Their romantic engagement took place in London and SweetEscape is just lucky enough to have their personal insight on the little “cheerleading” love story these two have. We fired Jayson with more questions and his answers are just as cute as we thought they would be!

You guessed it, Jayson and Ariel met through cheerleading. They both had been cheering for the same team for years.

"Cheerleading has always have a special place in both our hearts. It’s a sport that makes you realize that nothing is too big nor too difficult to overcome. It’s about sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork that counts. As long as we work towards the same goals, whether as a team or as a couple, I believe there is nothing that we can’t overcome. It’s all about hardwork and determination as well.

For me, having met Ariel is one of the best thing about cheerleading too. It’s like having your own personal supporter and life cheerleader. Isn’t that just awesome? During our cheerleading days and beyond, we have supported each other and been there for each other in all of our ups and downs.

Cheerleading often leads to sport injuries too. So when we face obstacles together, be it injuries, failing goals or whatever, it’s comforting to know that the other is there for you and yes, cheering for you. It’s truly something special for both of us." - Jayson
