Filipino radio and TV personality Sam YG (short for Samir Young Guy) recently went to Bangkok with his college friends. They had a photoshoot with SweetEscape and the photos were everything else but boring!
Sam expressed his love for travel - be it locally around the Philippines on his motorbike or abroad getting to know different cultures. He always tries to plan big trips annually, little trips throughout the year, and always felt lucky because working and traveling go hand-in-hand as he hosts a lot of events in and out of Metro Manila.
Keep scrolling for the fun bits of our recent chat with the charming personality.
I'm really into sports. I've done triathlon, I love motorsports, and a good sense of adventure. I like to go around on my motorbike and drive all the way up to the northern Philippines, which usually takes up to 10 hours. I'm a very free-spirited person.
I'm also a very cerebral person! Although you see me talk a lot because it's part of my job, when I'm at home I'm actually very quiet.
No... It was actually my third or fourth time but it was my first time with my college barkada (squad), and I always believe the people you're with sets the tone of the trip.
When you go to a new city or country, it's always good to research beforehand. Make sure you know where you're going to. Research the top 10 attractions or restaurants; you don't have to do everything or go to every place, but find the ones that fit you personality / lifestyle.
It is also always good to find good balance between relaxing and sight-seeing. You don't want to be too tired when you get back from the vacation or you might need a vacation from your vacation. Take your travel essentials and a camera is a must! Take good photos of your travels to re-live the memories.
It was the first time me and my college barkada went on a trip outside of the Philippines and it made the trip extra special. It was awesome to reconnect after more than 10 years of graduating and talk about each other's lives.
Bangkok has so much energy. So much to see, so much to do, and when you go there you'd always want to go back for more. Wat Pho is a must and the nightlife scene in Bangkok is interesting. Khao San Road was pretty good. Floating Market and the Chatuchak Market are must-visits! You get so much good deals on clothing, accessories, and a lot of other stuff.
Still so much. I've been to Europe a few times. Earlier this year, I was in Africa for the first time. I checked out Zimbabwe, Namibia, and South Africa... But I think the next place I would like to cross out of my travel bucket list would be South America: Argentina, Brazil, the lot.
A lot of Asia trips; Japan, Singapore. I was also around the Philippines. The biggest trip was South Africa. I went to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and I checked out Table Mountain, Angel's Falls, and it was beautiful.
It was my first time booking SweetEscape, and it was such a breeze. It was pretty much done in a day. I wanted some good photos of me and my friends, I booked it a day before, and lo and behold the next day I met a great photographer from SweetEscape who also suggested nice spots to shoot at. The photographer was super easy to work with and the shots were amazing. Everything was done in an hour. The memories are gonna be there and it just makes the experience a lot more solid.
So, I gotta say SweetEscape gets the job done, and the best part is you get these memories with you captured in these awesome shots. You don't have to worry about the angle, the location, because they do everything for you! So am I gonna do it again? HELL YEAH!
