Professional basketball player Hamady Ndiaye proposed to her girlfriend Kameel on the beautiful El Nido, and SweetEscape were lucky enough to be a part of their beautiful love moment! Read through to see how their love story unfolds!

1. How long have you and Kameel known each other? How did you meet?

I met Kameel on July 31st 2010 and I never let go of her since that day.

2. How long have you been together as a couple?

We been together 9 years and I basically asked her out in the first week or two after the first time we saw each other.

3. After being together for a while, when did you realize that Kameel was the one?

I told my Best friend and Brother within the Hour after meeting her "I think I found HER" (referring to the woman of my dreams), and we still talk about it to this day.

4. How long have you been planning the proposal? Was SweetEscape involved in the process?

I have been planning it since 2016 all the pieces came together this year. Sweet Escape was the last piece of the puzzle that I needed to actually confirm that I was going to do it because what’s an engagement to a Fashion Designer/Blogger without pictures and videos to capture the perfect moment.

5. Is there any significance in Miniloc Island as to how you decided to propose there?

Well I was sent on a vacation by senator Manny Pacquiao after my PBA season to Pangulasian island and I got to visit Miniloc at the time and all the small islands around El Nido which was when I decided that the next time I would come to the Philippines with my now fiancé would be the time make it happen in one of the most beautiful places I have been so far. That’s when the idea started cooking in my mind and took the time to perfect exactly what I wanted to happen.

6. How did you decide on that beautiful engagement ring?

That was a process as well because I wanted it to describe how much she means to me but also reflect her character on it. I wanted to make sure I covered every aspect of her dreams to make it a moment last a lifetime.

7. Tell us about how SweetEscape helped you with your surprise. Also, how you decided to use their service to capture this significant moment in your and your fiancé’s life?

SweetEscape was referred to me by a good friend from Mighty Sports while we were competing to win the Jones Cup Gab Banal. I explained my plans and that the only part I couldn’t figure out was how to get a photographer on the island for the day. He Shared the link and upon discussing my intentions with them, they helped not just with pictures, but helped me prepare the place and directed the photo shoot so well that my fiancé couldn’t imagine what I was setting up for her. Once I gave them the go sign, they were prepared and set to capture every angle of the proposal with both their equipments and mine. It’s been the greatest moment for me and my fiancé and looking forward to our new chapter in life. Couldn’t be more thankful for the Philipines, Mighty Sports and SweetEscape for helping me bring this amazing dream to life for us!
