Where is this magical place you might wonder? It is located in Finland, a remote place within the Arctic Forest and right in it there lies a destination called the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. It literally has a home named as such, Santa Home, in the resort itself!

If you are one of those people who dreamt of a white Christmas, better book your ticket and the resort today! To get there you need to fly to Helsinki Airport first then get a domestic flight to Ivalo Airport. From there it is only 30 minutes bus ride to the resort. It is a quite easy trip to a very secluded magical place which will make your long haul flight worth it.

When we get to the resort a wonderful experience awaits you. You can rent a log chalets to stay or a glass igloo room, there are many different types of accommodations that you can check on their website. In the morning you will be able to see the most beautiful sunrise in your life while having breakfast at their restaurant.

For the nature and animal lover in you, you can experience getting on a dog sledge or a reindeer sledge around the resort. This fun can last up to 40 minutes while you can watch the animals having fun cutting the thick snow through the Arctic forest. This activity will be perfect while watching the sundown.

Lastly the ‘creme de la creme’ of this trip is stargazing. If you stay in a glass igloo room this will be perfect. You might stay all night just staring at the stars and not fall asleep that night. Another night phenomena is the northern light, the infamous aurora. You can watch them from within the igloo as well, just need to check the forecast beforehand.
