Venice is a city in Northern Italy. It is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon, which is why there are no roads, but canals. In order to get around, you can walk along the small paths connecting buildings or take a gondola ride.

Of course, visiting famous landmarks is a must, like Piazza San Marco, a plaza that gets flooded at times and is full of pigeons; St. Mark’s Basilica, a beautiful Catholic cathedral; and Doge’s Palace, a museum built in Venetian Gothic style.

But what else is there to do?

Go around the canals on a gondola, but those who have a family can take the children with them. Sure, gondola rides are romantic with a partner, but experiencing it with the family creates a memorable experience, too.

Couples can enjoy a romantic stroll along Venice river, especially if you can’t use a gondola to get where you want. You can hold hands and take all the time you need to look around and appreciate the sights. If you are too shy for PDA, then steal a kiss at narrow brick alleys. Just make sure no one is looking!
