May The 4th Be With You! 5 Ways to Celebrate Star Wars Day 2020 at Home
04 May 2020EXPERIENCEBY Ezra

May The 4th Be With You! Something that started off as a tongue-in-cheek pun from the Star Wars catchphrase 'May The Force be With You' has been celebrated annually on May 4th by the die-hard fans of this space opera series originally created by George Lucas in 1977. The movie about classic good vs evil (or Jedi vs Sith in the movies) has grown into a 9-episodes movie series and countless series, games, toys, and spin-off movies for the last 43 years.

This year's Star Wars Day is a little different because we can't go out and dress up in costumes and swing our lightsabers with friends; instead we are all under quarantine because of the COVID-19 situation. No worries, though! We can still travel to a galaxy far far away from the comfort of our own homes! Here's 5 exciting ways to celebrate Star Wars 2020 at Home that we've compiled for you!

1. Watch the Entire Skywalker Saga & TV Series

The entire Star Wars saga came to a close with last year's Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Now, all 9 films from the Star Wars saga are available online or in DVD that you can get easily! Relive the wonders of watching the Battle of Yavin from Episode IV, see the shock on your children's face when they found out that spoiler alert Darth Vader is Luke's father on Episode V, watch the tense 15 minutes lightsaber duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan from episode III, and follow Rey's journey from a scavanger on Jakuu to a full-on Jedi Master with the sequel trilogy. It's time to pass on the legacy to the next generation!

Other than the main movies, you can also watch the fan favourite Rogue One, or follow Mando's journey with the cute Baby Yoda on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. There are just so many movies to watch from the Star Wars franchise at home!

2. Play the Games!

Over the years, Star Wars have produced many interesting video game titles to play, especially during quarantine! Check out Cal Cestis' journey with the new Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, or play with your friends online on Star Wars Battlefront II and the classic Knight's of the Old Republic. There are also many Star Wars-themed board games such as Star Wars monopoly or Star Wars chess to play together with your family!

One of the most exciting thing about Star Wars is the many beautiful costumes that everyone is wearing in the movies. This Star Wars Day, why not try to dress up as the characters for a day at home? Use the simple black vest and white shirt as Han Solo, wear a headphone to recreate Princess Leia famous hair bun, or wear the bathrobe to be a Jedi Knight! It's simple to have fun... You just have do it! As Master Yoda puts it, "Do or do not, there is no try".

Among other things, Star Wars Day always encourages us to never let fear and dread take over our lives and keep having fun, because as Luke Skywalker puts it, "Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi". Have a happy Star Wars Day, and may the Force be with us!
