Mizuki is one of our photographers in Tokyo. We had a chat with him about fall in Tokyo, which begins at the end of September until early December.
"Autumn is my favorite time of the year, " said Mizuki. Life everyday can be so much different because of the colors and smell. "I know it's fall when I can sense the smell of osmanthus in the air, besides, of course, the flowers and leaves are changing colors eventually they fall from the tree." The scene couldn't be any more picturesque, could it?
The season is perfect for taking beautiful scenic photos and spending time outdoors, thus Mizuki shared his tips on how to have moments captured in his hometown. According to Mizuki, the best time to have your photos taken are morning and sunset when there is still natural light to make your pictures look amazing. The best photo spots to take in autumn in Tokyo are Shinjuku Gyoen, Jingu Gaien Icho Namiki, West Shinjuku area, Memory Street - also in West Shinjuku, and Yoyogi Park. "I usually take our Escapists to more places from Omotesando, Harajuku, Meiji Jingu, Yoyogi Hachiman, and Shibuya. So in 2-hour session, they will get plenty of spots to capture," said Mizuki.
When it comes to culinary, this is what he has to say. “Autumn season is the best season to eat,” said our Japanese photographer. “Lots of delicious food is in fall. Eel, matsutake, and persimmon are some of my favourite autumn foods. One more, the rice is harvested in autumn as well, so the rice is good, too! Also, Ginko is very delicious to eat for “Chawanmushi”, which is steamed egg custard.”
Now you know that autumn is one of the beautiful seasons that you can discover its absolute beauty in Tokyo, if you're going to Tokyo this autumn, all you need to do is book your session and our local photographer will capture your holiday moments in beautiful photos. Just like Mizuki, the rest of our photographers are locals, so you're not only getting great photos, but also best insights about the city.
