You’re probably sitting there thinking, why go through the trouble of going to the post office to send out some cards when you can easily send them personal greetings conveniently through your gadgets? The answer is simple! It’s the effort that counts. We use our gadgets daily, to book appointments, to arrange a meet up with our friends and to handle our personal businesses.

What’s so special about holiday greeting cards? It’s one of the simplest and most cherished efforts to show you care, because you actually take time making them. SweetEscape has just the tip for you to upgrade your holiday greetings using your photo session(s). In case you’re entirely modern and aren’t familiar with the whole holiday greeting card trend back in the day, below are some great ideas for you to try out this holiday for a more festive delight!

Low on money? Digitalize your Holiday cards!

Don’t worry, we include anyone and everyone to join in on the fun. Since the holidays are coming up, we take it that some of you are on a tight budget to save up for an awesome trip somewhere. With that said, you can simply digitalize your holiday greeting cards by making a cute slideshow either with applications that you already have, or by simply downloading better ones if necessary.

Make a video slideshow using your favorite photos (hopefully with SweetEscape) and add on some cool tunes for a holiday feel. Do customize accordingly, though. Say that you’re sending out cards to your friends, you’d probably go for some hip tunes. Whereas jazzy tunes would be more suitable for your loved ones and family members.

Got some spare change? Do it the traditional way!

If you’ve got the money, then you’ll be able to spend a bit on bits and pieces of accessories to make whichever type of card you choose to make. To save you the trouble, here are some great ideas for holiday greeting cards to make and send out to your special people.

1. The Simple Hallmark Card

Remember those days before the paper-thin fast technological laptops that you may or may not own now? Hallmark cards were a thing, and on special occasions you would get your own with some money inside (hint: grandparents). Here’s your chance to bring back those good ol’ days. Instead of buying generic cards from the store with greetings that could be easily copy pasted off of the internet, make your own instead with your own personal greetings and wishes. Print some of your best pictures to stick on the card, and even use it as the card’s cover.

2. The Unfolding Pop-up Card

You’re probably familiar with this one as this is surprisingly quite popular in the modern day. You would see services advertising on instagram to make these pop-up cards for you, but you would need to make your order a few days in advance due to the many orders there are. You will need some arts & crafts supplies for this, though. You can easily get them at your local stationery store, and as for the step-by-step, you can look on Pinterest and many other sites that give you great instructions depending on the type of pop-up card you want.

3. The Keepsakes Card

If you’d rather make something that can be kept as keepsake instead of being thrown away afterwards, the keepsakes card is an option you can do for a more meaningful approach. The general idea is for you to create more or less an envelope that opens up into a card. It can be in the form of a heart, box with a ribbon or anything that you prefer. Inside, you can put in smaller photographs of perhaps you and the person you are sending the card out to.

4. The Collage Card

Our last tip for you is to use your completed photo sessions to be printed out and made into a collage-style greeting card. Perhaps the generic Hallmark card showcasing only a photo cover isn't enough, and that's okay! You can freely express and create your collage however you want with your selected pictures. This way, you can share more than just a cover photo for your card, and collages truly do make great greeting cards!
