25 Nov 2019INSPIRATIONBY SweetEscape

SweetEscape is an on demand photography platform. What is there to not like about the winter time? The perfect white snow covering the streets, sprinkles of snowflakes decorating the tree branches, and Christmas just seems especially more Christmas-y with all that white snow for a true merry little Christmas vibe. Not to mention, pictures seem so much more perfect with serene white snow in the backdrop. Cold or not, you would probably still want to look somewhat cute even though dressed for the cold snow. When you're about to do some walking in a winter wonderland, there are several things you should consider to keep you all warm and fuzzy. If you're planning on a trip somewhere cold, here are outfit tips to help you stay warm but lookin' good throughout the snowy weather.

1. (Faux) Fur It Up, Please

Wear a warm (and furry) functioning coat

The snowy season might seem tricky to some of you, and you’re there thinking… How will I ever manage to stay cute in the freezing snow?. Luckily for you, there’s a solution to (almost) everything. Our first solution for you is to purchase an excellent quality coat, preferably fur. We’re sure you’ve seen those leather coats with the fur hood on the back. If you’re into those, then it’s definitely the time to pull and show it off!

2. Get Boots That Are Made For Walkin

Make sure your boots can conquer slippery snow

The second tip you should definitely consider is to invest on great heavy-duty boots for the snow. Skip the flats, HEELS (especially this), flip-flops and slip ons if you want to save your legs from any unwanted accidents. There are various kinds of snow-boots that you can choose form, and they’re certainly not all plain and boring! After all, it should be safety first before fashion. Boots can look cute too, and matches perfectly with a background full of snow.

3. Layer Your Pieces

Sweaters, thermals, leggings - layer 'em all

The fun part of the winter season is being able to dress in layers… especially if you’re in the more snowy areas. You would need to get your bodies warm in the cold weather for when you commute from place to place. So, instead of wearing only 1 or 2 pieces of thick clothing, alter it to wearing several pieces at once. For instance, you could wear a tank top on the inside, and a cardigan or knit sweater over it, with a thick coat as the final layer. Call it a practical way of dressing up, if you will. You'll be able to switch your outfits from outdoors to indoors with ease, and trust us, you'll be needing a lot of that practicality!

4. It Ain't No Time For Showing Skin

Avoid anything short, revealing or thin - unless you want to freeze in time

During snow-y weather, it’s highly important that you keep yourself covered to keep warm and protected from the extremely cold temperature of the cold winter. So, we hope you would know better than to leave some parts of your body exposed to the extreme temperatures. Save the exposé for the summertime, and keep yourself covered in the meantime... so, don't force yourself to go out in the snow with bare skin unless it's some worth-it dare.

5. Always Remember To Accessorize!

Put on your hats, gloves and scarves to "decorate" your winter-y self

If you’re not completely satisfied with only a cute jacket, practical bottoms and functioning snow boots… don’t worry, there’s plenty of accessories that you can add on to your main outfit! From gloves to scarves, you can add them on to your outfit and not only feel warmer, but also look better. Play it up a little, and you'll be winter-chic in no time1
