Seattle is a city made famous by the romantic movie Sleepless in Seattle starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. The city has developed greatly since the movie was made, which was in 1993. It has now become a popular tourist destination and a place to study.

Of course the most iconic structure in Seattle is the 605-foot-tall Space Needle. On the observation level, which you can reach via a 43-second elevator ride, see the doodle-on-a-napkin concept that led to the Space Needle design. You can see Elliott Bay, the Cascade Mountains, and even Mount Rainier while feeling on top of the world!

Another fixture of the city’s skyline is the Seattle Great Wheel. This is the perfect place to take one-of-a-kind photos in the sky against the city, water, and mountains on the horizon. With three rounds around in one of the air-conditioned gondolas, not only can you take as many photos as you want, but also just enjoy the stillness and the great view. For couples, this could be a romantic experience in the sky.

Visit Pike Place Market where you can get plenty of sights and sounds such as the original Starbucks café that has kept its original look. In a way, you go back in time as you sip on your favourite drink. There is also the famous Market Theater Gum Wall, which is a brick wall covered in used chewing gum. Yes, it is disgusting to look at and smells too, but you have to admit that it is a work of art. Nowhere else in the world you can find something as unique and crazy as this. So, immortalize it in photos, just don’t get too close to it though.

Seattle’s original downtown is full of beautiful old buildings in Romanesque Revival style, such as the likes in Pioneer Square. Be a part of the classy and joie de vivre crowd who venture into the ivy covered bars, boutiques, and art galleries where the historic meets the 21st century.

If you are looking for a place to run around or have a picnic, Gas Works Park in Seattle is a nice choice. It is a 19.1-acre public park on the site of the former Seattle Gas Light Company gasification plant, located on the north shore of Lake Union at the south end of the Wallingford neighborhood. There is a poetic juxtaposition of the old wreckage of industrialism set among the sprawling green of nature.
