04 Jul 2020EXPLOREBY Ezra

Every 4th of July Americans everywhere celebrate the independence day of USA, the endearingly called 'Land of the Free and Home of the Brave'. Usually the day will be filled with parades all across the country, many festivals and get togethers, ended with magnificent fireworks that lights up the night sky.

This year, though, the celebrations have to be put on hold because of the pandemic, and even though the economy is already reopening in a lot of states, we're still encouraged to stay mostly at home in the effort to keep flattening the curve. No worries! Here are several ways you can still celebrate 4th of July while staying safe!

1. Watch Fireworks (If you're lucky)

The 4th of July is synonymous with fireworks shows, but this year it's a risky thing to do. To keep our safety while still maintaining the fun, Macy's Fireworks Show will be played in various 'surprise' location in New York City starting Monday (29/6) all the way to Saturday (4/7) so people don't gather beforehand in expectancy. Let's hope that you're in luck and catch one right above your block

2. Take a Virtual Tour of National Landmark!

All across the country, many national landmark websites are opening up virtual tours for you to enjoy them at the safety of your homes. Take a trip to some of the country's most popular landmarks and learn more about the rich history this country possesses, for there's not better time to do it than on Independence Day!

3. Watch Hamilton on Disney+!

This is probably the safest and funnest way to celebrate 4th of July at home. Hamilton is an award winning epic Broadway musical by Lin Manuel Miranda, and it tells the story around America's founding in 1776. It is a worldwide favourite, but with Broadway closing until the end of 2020, a lot of you might have missed the chance to see it live. Don't worry! Now, you can watch the musical on Disney+ streaming service!
