It’s not officially a holiday in LA until you post it to the ‘gram! The City of Angels is simply blessed with so many instagrammable places that you can’t help but reach for your phone to upload a few winning pictures. And we don’t blame you too! It’s not like you can get a shot of super clear blue sky dotted with white clouds and perfect row of palm trees anywhere, right? So let’s get snapping when you’re in LA and make sure not to miss our 6 top picks for the most instagrammable places in Los Angeles!
Is there any better icon to LA than the Pier? We think not. The red and yellow Ferris wheel is basically the city’s trademark, along with its fully operating amusement park, arcade area, rows of bars, restaurants, and shops. You can get an excellent view of Malibu and South Bay up here, and it only gets better as the sun sets in. The atmosphere changes from hot and hip to cool and cozy where the beach and live local music serenades you along.
Still, we recommend whipping your camera out during the day because the sun just brings out all the best angles of the Pier. Walk by the beach or stand underneath the pier, admire the old buildings on the grounds or go on rides - whatever you do, it’s going to be an instagrammable day for sure.
Pronounced “brod” instead of “ brawd”, this contemporary art museum in LA will redefine your #aestheticsgoal and #instaworthy ideas all at once. Famous for its Yayoi Kusama exhibits, this spot is especially most sought after for the original Infinity Mirror Room - The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away. Yeap, the long name only confirms its popularity by being consistently magical since 2015.
There is also another Infinity Mirror Room, Longing for Eternity ( 2017) that is a chamber with a porthole-like window. All we can say is, brace yourself for the long queue and get ready to enter a constellation of wonder you didn’t know you needed.
This place needs very little introduction and to some, maybe a little overrated. But it’s actually very refreshing to crouch and touch the celebrities’ names etched on a ground and framed by a star. As one of the most popular tourist attractions in the entire city, arrive early in the morning to enjoy this space and find your favorite stars with ease. Get your camera ready because we got a feeling, you might want to snap them all!
Another day in LA means another museum to explore. One that is making the instagram buzz is Urban Light at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). With over 200 street lamps from the 1920-1930’s era lined up in formation, this lamp installation is as unique as it is iconic. Many has praised this as a must-stop beating out other popular landmarks because it is just that impressive.
Snatch your own fabulous photo and get a tastes of modern art, during day or night, and you’ll be sparking your own lights of love in double-tap form.
Located strategically on a hillside of Los Angeles since 1935, visiting the historic monument will leave you speechless as it overlooks the city's beauty from atop. The Hollywood sign, Pacific Ocean, and LA skyscrapers embraced by their iconic palm trees are all visible from this exact monument. Put it this way, visiting this spot will give you the best of both worlds outdoors and indoors; a blissful view of the city of angels from the outside and an exhilirating experience inside as you are surrounded by its beautiful architecture and decor.
An IG phenomenon aka the most instagrammed wall in LA, who would have thought that a giant bubble-gum pink wall could draw so much hype? Located at the popular shopping street of Melrose Avenue, Paul Smith is already a big name on its own, but the pink wall deserves its own applause altogether. It has its own security guard, protecting photo-takers from car safety from the sidewalk and also to stop any professional camera in action. So make sure you follow the rules and play nice, then upload it for a perfect memory.

Back in early 2001, Maritoni Fernandez, a Philippine cinematic gem, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. At the time, Maritoni was very busy with her acting career and during a brief visit to the US to get a second opinion for her mom’s medical condition, Maritoni was surprised to find out that a lump she had noticed years prior, which she thought was benign, turn out to be positive for cancer. It’s 20 years later and she still tears up when she recalls the moment that turned her life upside down. But as surprising as the diagnosis was, her year-long struggle with a disease that could have taken her life, soon came to an end with her on top. Feeling very strongly about paying-it-forward, she’s been an iCanServe member for 19 years and has made sharing her story a personal advocacy; “The day I stop sharing my story is the day I’m no longer brave and I hope that never happens.”, she says.
Maritoni grants us an afternoon to share her inspiring story with the hopes that it gives others, going through the same experience, strength to overcome it.
Looking back, she feels blessed that she followed her instincts to have herself checked again despite getting initial medical advice that she had nothing to worry about. Admittedly, she was hesitant to bring it up again as having the thought of a possible sickness is something she didn’t want to verbalize. Being the strong and determined person that she is, soon after confirming her diagnosis, Maritoni set her mind to overcome the biggest hurdle in her life. “In hindsight, it felt like a wild roller coaster ride. It’s also a test of patience and grit.,” said Maritoni. She decided to create a relationship with her cancer to help prepare her for the long journey she had ahead of her.
During treatment, she went through 4 Chemotherapy sessions followed by 26 sessions of radiation therapy. She was then put on oral medication and was instructed to stay on it for 5 years but with the help of her medication complemented by natural supplements, her body recovered in just 3 years and was blessed with a miracle of being pregnant with her second child.
Despite the terrifying experience, her faith got her through the ordeal. She says “I knew the fight was not mine. I physically had to fight it, but the fight was really HIS. I was allowed to get sick because a lot of people are gonna learn from it. “ Her lovely daughter, Lexi shares the same sentiment saying that “The world can get to me but having faith keeps me grounded. And this is something I’ve learned from my mom’s journey.”
Ever since she was declared cancer-free, Maritoni has taken it upon herself to share her experience and inspire people to keep the faith and to not look at cancer as the end of one’s journey. Her advice to those who’ve been diagnosed? “Have faith, don’t lose hope, and pray as God is a mighty healer. Breast Cancer is not a death sentence. Follow what your doctors tell you to do but don’t be scared to get a second opinion before getting aggressive treatment. At the same time, don’t just leave your prognosis to your doctors. Do something about it and research. Keep your chin up, keep going, and find something to live for everyday - for me it was my daughter Lexi. If you do get healed by the grace of God, pay it forward.”
For this shoot, Maritoni prepares for a charity ball which she supports. She believes this is worth remembering because she attended with her daughter and SweetEscape is the perfect partner to capture this moment in this warrior’s life.
