Even if it’s exciting, starting a college life away from home isn’t for everyone. It brings so many potential problems, from finances to the social aspect. This young man, Felix, had his best four years of his live by going through so many ups and downs, survived, and managed to make his parents proud. Here’s his story.
I came to Sydney in July 2012, just after my high school graduation. I came here for study hoping to have a better opportunity for myself. I only asked my father to buy me one way ticket to Sydney and nothing else. I told him “just help me to get there and I will survive.”
With limited amount of money and wasn’t really fluent in English, I had so many bad days. Although the first year was quite a bumpy road, I was willing to learn to be more adaptive. When I finally started my university life, got a better job, and settled in a better home, my life’s getting better and better.
*My parents came to Sydney for the first time for my graduation and I hadn’t seen them in 3 years. Therefore I wanted to have a good family picture with them on one of historical days of our lives and SweetEscape gave excellence service and great photos we’d be happy to keep and look back at. *
I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, but my parents always taught me that no matter how many times I fail, there’s always a reason to not losing hope on something. Just look at my parents, I knew I did it right.
