Eager to Return to Travel

In a recent study conducted by Expedia Group in cooperation with Morning Consult, it is reported that the majority (58%) of respondents have travel plans for the fall, but millennials are in the lead (67%) compared to Gen Z, Gen X, and boomers.

Millennials (70%) and Gen Z (63%) are also the most eager to fly, compared to other generations.

Domestic Travel is on the Rise

Based on the survey conducted by TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel guidance platform, domestic tourist destinations have become popular during the pandemic because there are many good tourist attractions that are not too distant from their homes. Over half of all U.S. respondents earning more than $50,000 (54%) are exploring domestic air travel for their next vacation,they are packing their belongings and heading to more distant domestic destinations, particularly the Southern and Pacific US regions such as Florida, and California.

The Popularity of Solo Travel

While most people plan to travel with their loved ones, families, or friends, solo travel has become more popular in recent months. When compared to Gen X (59%) and boomers (47%), millennials and Gen Z are more interested in solo trips (72%).

The top three reasons given by those surveyed were for a change of scenery (47%), self-discovery (34%), and to be fully absorbed in their location (27%).
